Rick Ewin First Time CRA Street Stock Winner
Clermont, IN (September 20, 2008) –
Larry Latham gave Rick Erwin a strong car and
Erwin turned the CRA Street Stock race into a chase moving from 27th
to the Top 10 within 10 laps and
catching
the leader to pass him just before half way. Jeff Pery lead
the first 22 laps but could not hold off Erwin or catch him.
Chad Hall was credited with third after Brian Hopkins failed post
race tech. Bred Miles, Jr. was fourth and Eric McGothlin
finished fifth.
"We had to fix this car this week, we had a hard
crash at Anderson and had to clip it, we started Monday, and just
got it here. We were ok in practice, pretty fast, and then we
adjusted it before the race and made it unbeatable." Erwin
commented. "It was a fun race!"

Carl
Muffley Takes MAX 40
Joshua
Burton took the early lead
for the Max 40 the last
race for the 2008 World
Stock Car Festival at
Winchester Speedway.
He held on to
the
lead for 20 laps before
Bret Miles, Jr. tracked
him down to take the lead.
Miles, Jr. was battling
Carl Muffley with just
three laps to go when his
right rear tire blew out
on the front straightaway
causing Miles to bounce
off the wall into
Muffley's path.
Muffley made contact, but
was able to continue, and
held on to win.
"I hate to
win this way, I thought we
were going to have a great
time there at the end, but
Bret's (Miles) tire blew.
I got into him, but this
old car is pretty solid so
we came out alright."
Muffley stated. "I
really like to race these
guys, Bret is a solid
competitor that makes me
work hard for the pass,
and he races hard and
clean."
