CRA Super Series
Extends Early Entry Opportunity For The Southern Slam 250
Salem, IN (November 10, 2008)
– The CRA Super Series has announced that they have extended the early
entry deadline until this Friday, November 14th for the 1st
Annual Southern Slam 250, a 250 lap, $10,000 to win late model event
that will take place on November 21st, 22nd and
23rd at the South Georgia Motorsports Park located just
outside of Valdosta, Georgia.
Teams can contact the CRA Super
Series office at 812-883-0455 to find out details on how to enter the
event and receive the early entry discount. After Friday, teams will
have to pay a
$50
late fee to enter the event.
The event has already attracted many
of the top late model drivers from around the country including 2008
CRA Super Series Champion Scott Hantz who leads the Northern group of
racers entered for the event along with fellow Indiana competitor
Chris Gabehart, winner of the 200 lap CRA Super Series All American
400 event at the Music City Motorplex on November 1st.
Other top Northern drivers already entered include Illinois’s Boris
Jurkovic, Michigan’s John VanDoorn, Ohio’s Jack Landis and Wisconsin’s
Nathan Haseleu.
Three Georgia drivers lead the list
of Southern drivers entered including Jason Hogan, Shane Sieg, and
Allen Gordon. The Georgia based Bill Elliot Driver Development Team is
entered with Mitch Cobb of Edwards, Colorado behind the wheel and
famed late model competitor Ricky Turner turning the wrenches.
Florida’s Justin Drawdy, Eddie Mercer, Fain Skinner, Eddie Gainey, and
Nevin Gainey are entered. North Carolina’s Jeff Fultz, Oklahoma’s
Donnie Wilson, Alabama’s Stanley Smith and Tennessee’s Heath Hindman
are also entered.
The event will start on Friday,
November 21st with an open practice for all divisions plus
feature events for the local Late Models, Wild One’s, Race’em and
Wreck’em and Powder Puff divisions. Saturday, November 22nd
will have practice and qualifying for the 1st Annual
Southern Slam 250. On Saturday evening there will be more racing
action including the first ever Open Wheel Modified event at SGMP,
Super Stocks, Hobby Stocks and the Last Chance Race to fill out the
line-up for the 1st Annual Southern Slam 250. The 1st
Annual Southern Slam 250 will take the green flag at 2pm on Sunday,
November 23rd.
The 1st Annual Southern
Slam 250 will feature live pit stops and super racing action with a 36
car starting field at the premier 1/2 mile D-shaped, progressive
banked, asphalt track in the southeast. There will be a bonus package
for the top finishing CRA Super Series competitors, the PASS Super
Late Model Touring Series competitors, the Florida late model
competitors and bonuses for other top late model competitors from all
over the country.
