Salem, IN (November 17, 2008) – Champion Racing Association has announced that the 2008 Champion Racing Association Awards Banquet will be held at the Hoosier Park Racing & Casino in Anderson, Indiana located at 4500 Dan Patch Circle just off exit 26 of I-69. The 2008 Awards Banquet will be held on Saturday evening, January 10, 2009 in the Homestretch Clubhouse of the Horse Track at Hoosier Park. The 2008 Champion Racing Association Champions will be honored in the CRA Super Series, Howe CRA Sportsman Series, CRA Street Stocks and Vore’s Welding & Steel CRA FWD Compacts, along with all the top fifteen teams in 2008 CRA Super Series Owners Points and the top ten finishers in Owner Points in the other three CRA Divisions.

The CRA Super Series 2008 K & N Filters Rookie Of The Year Award winner with the CRA Super Series will be honored and will lead a group of selected CRA Super Series drivers and teams that will be awarded individual special awards at the Awards Banquet including the Winchester Speedway Sportsman Of The Year Award, the Darrell Teal Dedication Award and the Cometic Gasket Hard Luck Award. There will also be the Rookie Of The Year and Harris Products Group Sportsman of the Year Awards for both the Howe CRA Sportsman and the CRA Street Stocks and the Winchester Speedway Sportsman of the Year Award for the FWD Compacts.

There will be a reception to start the evening’s events at 6PM, followed by a buffet dinner at 7PM, with the awards ceremony immediately following at approximately 8:30PM. There will be several special announcements made concerning the 2009-racing season, and there will be several product items that will be given away by random draw of any team present for each division.

Some of the products that will be given away by random draw include a complete body from Five Star Racecar Bodies and a $500 Product Certificate from ARP Stock Car Bodies for both the Super Series and Sportsman, a $250 Product Certificate from Five Star Racecar Bodies and a $100 Product Certificate from ARP Stock Car Bodies for the Street Stocks. A Drivers Suit and Racing Shoes from Impact Racing, a set of wheels and two $60 Product Certificates from Bassett Racing Wheels, a set of wheels from Aero Racing Wheels and Stewart Warner Gauges for the Super Series, Sportsman and Street Stocks. A welder from Lincoln Welders for the Super Series and Lincoln Welder product for the Sportsman, Street Stocks and FWD Compacts. Additional giveaways for the Super Series includes a racing seat from Butlerbuilt Safety Systems, $300 in Product Certificates from Leaf Racewear, a set of Scott Performance Wires and a $200 Product Certificate from Cometic Gasket. There will be additional prize giveaways for all four divisions including pit passes from Winchester Speedway.

The Comfort Inn of Anderson will be the Official Hotel of the 2008 Champion Racing Association Awards Banquet located just down the road from Hoosier Park at 2229 E. 59^th Street. Overnight room reservations may be made by calling the Comfort Inn at 765-649-3000, ask for the special $52 CRA room rate. Hoosier Park has a shuttle that can get guests to and from the Comfort Inn.
