McGunegill Engine Performance Signs on as Major Sponsor with CRA Support Divisions

Engine Builder to Promote their New Sportsman and Street Stock Engine Packages through Awards Programs

Salem, IN (August 19, 2008)- Officials from Champion Racing Association (CRA) and McGunegill Engine Performance have announced new sponsorship programs for the Howe CRA Sportsman and CRA Street Stock divisions. The Muncie, Indiana based engine builder will be unveiling new engine packages developed specifically for the Sportsman and Street Stock teams in the very near future.

Effective immediately, at each race, the highest finisher in the top ten of the Howe CRA Sportsman division, who has not received the award previously, will receive a $100 certificate towards labor or purchase of an engine. A $50 certificate will be awarded in the CRA Street Stock division in the same manner at each race.

Additionally, McGunegill Engine Performance will award another $1000 worth of awards at the CRA Awards Banquet for the Howe CRA Sportsman and another $500 worth of awards for the CRA Street Stocks.

McGunegill Engine Performance has been a leader in developing high performance, cost effective race engine solutions. The family run business, led by DeWaine McGunegill Sr. (Mac) with sons DeWaine and Brent, led the development of the highly-successful sealed engine program for Super Late Models in the last 5 years. Their innovative Sealed Engine package cut the cost of purchasing a competitive Super Late Model engine by almost $20,000. The McGunegill family has been involved in racing for decades, as racers themselves, and later, as nationally recognized engine builders.

"We are excited to be a part of these great divisions of CRA," noted Mac McGunegill. "Both groups put on great shows. Through our involvement with the Super Late Models, we developed a desire to take some great alternatives to this Sportsman and Street Stock teams. Having been racers ourselves, we know the financial strains that can come from trying to field a competitive engine at ALL levels of racing, so it was an easy step for us to look at the Sportsman and Street Stocks to see where we could help. From completely new engines, to re-conditioned engines, or work on a racer’s existing engine, we plan to have a package for every type of need."

Details about the engine packages for the racers in the Sportsman and Street Stock divisions will be introduced in the coming weeks. For more information about McGunegill Engine Performance, visit their website at www.mcgunegillengines.com or call 765-282-1913.
