CRA Super Series Southern Slam 250 Event Cash And Contingency Awards Announced

Salem, IN (November 26, 2008) – Champion Racing Association Officials have announced the Cash and Contingency Awards from this past Sunday’s Southern Slam 250 event for the CRA Super Series at the South Georgia Motorsports Park in Cecil, Georgia. In order to receive Cash Bonus Awards the racecar must properly display each sponsors stickers on both sides of their racecar The $3,575 in total awards listed below is in addition to the events purse payout  Click Here.

 

Drawdy Wins Southern Slam 250

Cecil, GA (November 25, 2008) – Ft. Pierce, Florida native Justin Drawdy got his biggest late model win ever on Sunday afternoon in the inaugural Southern Slam 250 CRA Super Series sanctioned event at the South Georgia Motorsports Park just north of Valdosta, Georgia. Drawdy overcame an early spin to hold off Jack Landis and then Augie Grill in the late laps of the event to get the win.  Click Here.

Augie Grill Fast Qualifier

Augie Grill has been fast all weekend, but not the fastest in any practice session.  He saved his best for qualifying turning a lap at 17.645 to set fast time and earn the pole for the Southern Slam 250.  Jack Landis was second fast, Justin Drawdy who had battled brake problems all day Saturday finished third, Shane Sieg fourth and Corey Williams fifth.

Haase Sets Fast Time in Second Practice

Alex Haase set fast time for the weekend with a time of 17.837 seconds.  Jack Landis was second in the practice session with Shane Seig in third, Justin Drawdy, fourth and Scott Hantz fifth.

Following Landis was also second to Haase for overall fastest on Saturday with Chris Gabehart, third, Shane Seig fourth and Justin Drawdy fifth. 

Drawdy is second fastest for the weekend so far, with Haase in the lead, Landis in third, Gabehart fourth and Corey Williams fifth.

Gabehart Leads First Saturday Practice

After a close call during the last practice session on Friday when a car dumped oil on the track and Chris Gabehart slid lightly into the wall he repaired the car and went out to set fast time in the first practice session SAturday for the Southern Slam 250.  Justin Drawdy was second fast with Shane Seig third, Augie Grill fourth and Heath Hindman fifth.

Shelnut to Start Qualifying

Darryl Shelnut of Lake City, FL will lead off qualifying for the Southern Slam 250.  Allen Gorman from Leesburg, GA will go second Deatsville, AL's Billy Ammons third, CRA veteran Jack Landis from Edgerton, OH will go fourth and Heath Hindman fifth in from Signal Mountain, TN.

Corey Williams Fastest in Final Session Drawdy Fastest Overall

Corey Williams was the fastest in the final practice session on Friday with a lap time of 17.919, Jason Hogan was second, Justin Drawdy third, Jeff Fultz fourth and Ben Rowe fifth.

Overall the fastest of day was Justin Drawdy with a time of 17.866 seconds, Chris Gabehart was second at 17.918, Corey Williams third, Jeff Fultz fourth and Augie Grill fifth.

Drawdy Holds Fast Time

Justin Drawdy held on to fast time for the third practice session with a lap of 17.866 seconds.  Chris Gabehart was still second with a time of 17.918, Jeff Fultz was third.  Augie Grill was fourth and Corey Williams fifth.

Justin Drawdy set a new fast time with a lap of 17.917 seconds just a whisper faster than Chris Gabehart who was in at 17.926 seconds.  Jeff Fultz was third, Three time CRA Super Series Champion Scott Hantz fourth and Augie Grill fifth.

Ben Rowe Fastest in First Southern Slam 250 Practice

Ben Rowe turned a lap at 17.976 seconds for the fast time at South Georgia Motorsports Park for the Southern Slam 250.  Jeff Fultz second fastest and the only other driver in the 17 second range turned a lap at 17.999.  Shane Seig was third, Justin Drawdy fourth and Chris Gabehart fifth.

Salem, IN (November 18, 2008) – Just as some of the North and Mid-west received there first snowflakes of the season, the CRA Super Series is ready to head south for the 1st Annual Southern Slam 250, a 250 lap, $10,000 to win late model event that will take place on November 21st, 22nd and 23rd at the South Georgia Motorsports Park located just outside of Valdosta, Georgia. BSRN set to Broadcast the "Southern Slam 250"

Winder GA: The Big Stick Racing Network, the south’s fastest growing racing broadcast company has announced it has reached an agreement with the CRA and the South Georgia Motor Sports Park and will broadcast the CRA Southern Slam 250 weekend live on Saturday Nov 22, and Sunday Nov, 23. The race coverage will include all of the preliminary action from Saturday night as well as the full 250 lap feature on Sunday. Broadcast time for Saturday is 6:30 until the evening of racing wraps up and broadcast time for the race on Sunday is 1:00pm with the Pro Shocks Green Flag Preview followed by all of the exciting racing from Green flag to checkered flag. Champion Racing Association Announces 2008 Awards Banquet Date

Salem, IN (November 17, 2008) – Champion Racing Association has announced that the 2008 Champion Racing Association Awards Banquet will be held at the Hoosier Park Racing & Casino in Anderson, Indiana located at 4500 Dan Patch Circle just off exit 26 of I-69. The 2008 Awards Banquet will be held on Saturday evening, January 10, 2009 in the Homestretch Clubhouse of the Horse Track at Hoosier Park. The 2008 Champion Racing Association Champions will be honored in the CRA Super Series, Howe CRA Sportsman Series, CRA Street Stocks and Vore’s Welding & Steel CRA FWD Compacts, along with all the top fifteen teams in 2008 CRA Super Series Owners Points and the top ten finishers in Owner Points in the other three CRA Divisions.  Click Here.

Vore’s Welding & Steel Agrees To Continue Title Sponsorship Of The CRA F.W.D. Compacts For 2009

Salem, IN (November 18, 2008) – Champion Racing Association officials are pleased to announce that Vore’s Welding & Steel has agreed to continue their title sponsorship of the CRA F.W.D. Compacts for the 2009 season, it will be the third season in a row that Vore’s Welding & Steel has been the title sponsor.

CRA and Winchester Speedway To Have Booth At The 33rd Annual Dave Dayton’s Thanksgiving Weekend Racers Auction and Trade Show

Salem, IN (November 14, 2008) – Champion Racing Association, the sanctioning body for the CRA Super Series, Howe CRA Late Model Sportsman Series, CRA Street Stocks and the Vore’s Welding & Steel CRA FWD Compacts and the promoters of Winchester Speedway for owner Charlie Shaw, will have a booth at the 33rd Annual Dave Dayton’s Thanksgiving Weekend Racers Auction and Trade Show at the Convention Center in downtown Indianapolis, Indiana. Hyperco Continues Support Of The CRA Super Series For The 2009 Season

Salem, IN (November 14, 2008) – CRA Super Series officials announced today that Hyperco has renewed their sponsorship of the CRA Super Series for the 2009 race season. Hyperco has been a proud supporter of the CRA Super Series for several seasons. Hyperco will award the highest finishing team at every CRA Super Series event in 2009, using Hyperco Hypercoil Springs, with one new Hypercoil Spring. 2009 CRA License Application and Number Registration Form

The 2009 CRA License Application and Number Registration Form is available now. Numbers purchased for the 2008 season with the CRA Super Series, Howe CRA Late Model Sportsman Series and CRA Street Stocks will be held for teams to purchase that same number until January 1, 2009 with the 2009 CRA License Application and Number Registration Form. After that date any numbers purchased in 2008 are first come, first serve. Any number not purchased in 2008 can be purchased at anytime with the 2009 CRA License Application and Number Registration Form. Please contact the CRA office with any questions.

Salem, IN (November 11, 2008) – Officials from the CRA Super Series have announced that JOES Racing Productshas agreed to continue their sponsorship of the CRA Super Series for the 2009 racing season. Swift Springs Renews Sponsorship With The CRA Super Series For 2009

Salem, IN (November 7, 2008) – CRA Super Series officials have announced that Swift Springs has signed to renew its sponsorship with the CRA Super Series for the upcoming 2009 race season. For the 2009 season Swift Springs will award the seventh place finisher at each series event with a Product Certificate for one Swift Spring.
