McGunegill Engine Performance Signs on as Major Sponsor with CRA Support Divisions

Engine Builder to Promote their New Sportsman and Street Stock Engine Packages through Awards Programs

Howe CRA Sportsman Series Seyferts 50 Contingency Awards

Salem, IN (August 13, 2008) – Champion Racing Association Officials have announced the Contingency Awards for the Howe CRA Sportsman Series from this past Saturday's Seyferts 50 at Baer Field Speedway. In order to receive the awards, the car owner and driver must be licensed series members and properly display each sponsors stickers on both sides of their racecar. CRA Super Series JayC Food Stores 100 Contingency Awards Announced

Salem, IN (August 19, 2008) – Champion Racing Association Officials have announced the Contingency Awards from this past Saturday’s JayC Food Stores 100 for the CRA Super Series at Salem Speedway. In order to receive Contingency Product awards, the car owner and driver must be licensed series members and properly display each sponsors stickers on both sides of their racecar. Minich Jr. Gets Win In Seyferts 50

Ft. Wayne, IN (August 17, 2008) – Steve Minich Jr. got the win in Saturday nights Howe CRA Sportsman Series Seyferts 50 at Baer Field Speedway on Autograph Night. Minich Jr. got his first series victory just the week prior in the International Truck 50 at Baer Field Speedway on Friday, August 8^th. Minich Jr. worked his way through the field from his seventh place starting position to grab the lead on lap 36 from Al Cook Jr. Minich then cruised on to get the win. Click Here.

Barnes Wins JayC Food Stores 100

Salem, IN (August 17, 2008) - 2004 CRA Super Series Champion, Chuck Barnes, Jr. didn’t decide to race at Salem Speedway until Wednesday, he put together a quick deal for some sponsorship and then raced to the win on Saturday in the CRA Super Series JayC Food Stores 100. JR Roahrig took the early lead from the pole position and held on for the first 37 laps until Barnes made a nice move on the outside in turn two to take the lead after hounding Roahrig every lap prior, up to his winning pass, always right in Roahrig’s shadow.

"We were going to come up and watch the race, and then were thinking we have the car why not bring it up and race it." Barnes stated. "We are looking to sell this car and we thought bringing it would make it easier to sell. It is great to win a CRA Super Series race at my home track!" Click Here.

Gardner Sets Fast Time

Former Salem Speedway Late Model Champion Keith Gardner set fast time for the Jay C Foods 100 turning a lap of 16.603 seconds. Johnny VanDoorn was second, Rick Turner third, Jeff Lane fourth and Jeff Berg fifth.

Qualification Results

Gardner then drew an eight for the invert. JR Roahrig will be on the pole, with Chuck Barnes, Jr on the outside of row one.

Van Doorn Fastest In Practice

Johnny VanDoorn was the fastest in practice for the Jay C Food Stores 100 at Salem Speedway with a time of 16.867 seconds. Former Salem Speedway late model champion Keith Gardner was second at 16.905. Rick Turner was third, Scott Hantz fourth and Boris Jurkovic fifth.

Chuck Barnes, Jr. will be racing in his first CRA Super Series event of 2008 on a beautiful sunny day at Salem Speedway. Jason Dietsch will attempt to keep a great year going, with four Top 5 finishes for the year, while qualifying second.

Maynor Still Leads The Cometic Gasket Hardcharger Standings

Salem, IN (August 15, 2008) – K & N Filters Rookie Of The Year competitor Robert Maynor still has the lead in the Cometic Gasket Hardcharger Standings with 45 gained positions after ten events so far in the 2008 season, heading into Saturday’s JayC Food Stores 100 at Salem Speedway. Maynor gained five positions in the series last event at Anderson Speedway to maintain a four position lead over current series points leader Scott Hantz who has 41 gained positions so far this season including five positions in getting the victory in the Anderson 300 Presented By Great Deals last Saturday night.
